Black vinyl wrap on a Chevrolet Corvette - Aura Vinyl

Black vinyl wrap on a Chevrolet Corvette

This installation features a black vinyl wrap applied to a 1997 to 2004 Chevrolet Corvette rear quarter panel.

Quarter Panel Wrap Steps

The video demonstrates how to restore the look of a worn rear quarter panel. The installer begins by cutting the vinyl down to shape. Next, they peel off the backing paper, tack down the back edge, and pull the remaining backing paper completely through. The front edge is tacked next to secure the panel into position.

To remove wrinkles and tension, the installer lifts the rear section and glasses it out. Squeegee work starts in the center, pushing trapped air outward toward the edges. Once the main surface is flat, the installer cuts the film on the opposite edge of the door, opens the door, and tucks the vinyl neatly into the jamb.

Finishing the Wheel Well

For the wheel well curve, the installer applies heat to soften the material and uses a wrap glove to work the film deep into the recess. Trimming is completed along the inside edge of the wheel well to create a clean finish.

Aura Vinyl vinyl wrap features a cast polymer hybrid construction with German-made adhesive and a PET backing for a smooth, flat look.
