This tutorial shows how to install white vinyl wrap on an Audi A5 front fender. The demonstration guides beginners through trimming the panel, locking in body lines, removing trapped air, and finishing edges clean.
Panel setup and glassing
Start by cutting the vinyl down to shape, leaving about two inches of excess material in the wheel well. Peel the backing paper back from the front of the fender and tack the vinyl into place. Pull the backing paper down, cut off the excess backing so the lower section does not stick early, and remove the protective cap sheet if the vinyl includes one.
Next, pick the film up at the front and glass it across the main body line. Use a wrapped glove to lock the vinyl directly onto the body line. Lift the remaining material, glass it across the top rear section, lock the rest of the body line down, and work upward. To handle the lower portion of the fender, start in the center and work outward toward the sides. Pick up the material and glass it out again if needed to glove out all air pockets.
Trimming and edge finishing
For the wheel well, warm the material with heat and roll the film underneath the arch using your thumb. Cut the excess along the deepest edge of the wheel well. Along the door gap, trim along the opposite edge, pull away the scrap vinyl, and tuck the remainder behind the panel.
Aura Vinyl vinyl wrap features a cast polymer hybrid construction with German-made adhesive and a PET liner, which allows for smooth repositioning and a flatter finish.
