Aura Vinyl wrap is designed to last for years when installed correctly and maintained according to our care guidelines. Every customer receives ample care instructions, and our full long-term care guide is available at auravinyl.com/pages/long-term-care.
When care instructions are followed, Aura cast vinyl is rated for up to 5 years indoors and up to 3 years outdoors, depending on finish, climate, and exposure. Hyper PPF and Clear PPF can last 10+ years with proper care.
Understanding mixed online feedback
Like any premium wrap film, long-term results depend heavily on how the vehicle is cared for after installation. Some negative reviews online come from owners who did not follow basic wrap maintenance â such as regular hand washing, avoiding harsh chemicals and automatic brush car washes, protecting the film from prolonged sun and environmental buildup, and using recommended care products.
Premature fading, staining, edge lift, or adhesive failure after a year is often linked to neglected maintenance rather than the film itself. Installers and customers who follow Aura's care instructions routinely see wraps that hold color, gloss, and adhesion for the full rated lifespan.
Recommended care basics
- Hand wash regularly with pH-neutral soap; avoid abrasive brushes and high-pressure direct spray on edges.
- Do not use petroleum-based solvents, harsh degreasers, or unapproved ceramic coatings on the film.
- Park in shade or use a cover when possible to reduce prolonged UV and heat exposure.
- Remove bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter, and road grime promptly â they can stain if left unattended.
