This is a beginner-friendly way to wrap a front fender, shown on a black 2019-2024 Audi A7. It works the fender in sections, from the front edge to the wheel well.
Steps
- Cut the film to the fender's shape, leaving 1 to 2 inches of excess on each side.
- Roll the backing paper back and tack the front of the fender.
- Peel more backing paper up to the top corner, then peel downward from the corner.
- Glass out the back of the fender and cut off the loose backing paper.
- Tack the rear top side on the body line.
- Glass out the front side and lock the film in across the body line.
- Work out the air on the top, then peel the rest of the backing paper.
- Heat the lifted section and, with even tension, glass out the bottom.
- Work into the farthest edge of the wheel well, lay the blade against the edge and trim.
Tips
- Get the top flat and air-free before you peel the last of the backing paper.
