This installation tutorial demonstrates car wrapping tools on a dark grey 2013-2020 Subaru BRZ and a green 2001-2006 BMW M3 with vinyl wrap finish. The video shows the basic equipment needed when wrapping a vehicle for the first time. The presenter explains the purpose of each item and demonstrates how to handle them on car panels.
Core Installation Tools
A good blade is the first item needed to trim down edges and cut away excess material cleanly. Next, a squeegee pushes out trapped air from behind the vinyl on flat body panels. A wrap glove lets you roll the material smoothly over vehicle edges without snagging.
A heat gun softens the film so it can conform to curved body panels and helps fix wrinkles that appear during the install. Tuck tools press the vinyl into narrow gaps and seams where a standard squeegee cannot fit. Finally, magnets hold the vinyl sheet firmly in position on the car while you measure and cut it to shape.
Film and Adhesive Features
Aura Vinyl wrap uses a PET-backed finish and German-made adhesive to support smooth repositioning and fewer glue lines.
FAQ
What tools are needed to wrap a car for the first time?
You need a blade, squeegee, wrap glove, heat gun, tuck tools, and magnets. These items let you cut material, press out air, roll edges, conform film, reach tight spots, and hold panels in place.
What does a heat gun do during a vinyl wrap installation?
A heat gun helps the vinyl conform to curved surfaces and fixes wrinkles that appear during installation.
Why are tuck tools used instead of a squeegee?
Tuck tools are designed to tuck the wrap material into tight seams and areas where a regular squeegee cannot fit.
