This tutorial demonstrates installing blue vinyl wrap on the front fender of an Audi S4.
Fender Wrap Steps
The video walks through managing backing paper, glassing out tension, and finishing edges on the panel. To begin, cut the film down to shape. Peel the backing paper on the front half of the fender and tack the vinyl into place. On the rear half, pull the backing paper downward and cut it away so the bottom section does not stick too early.
Next, lift and glass out the front top section, followed by the rear top section. Using a wrap glove, push air out from the center toward the outside edges. If horizontal wrinkles show up, pick the vinyl up to relieve tension. Warm the bottom front portion with heat, glass it out, and work the air to the edge. For the rear lower area, remove the rest of the backing paper, heat the lifted sheet, and glass it out before working air downward.
Trimming the Wheel Well
Once the vinyl is flat across the panel, heat the wheel well area. Press your thumb along the inner edge to set the film against the body line, then follow that line with your blade to cut the material down to shape.
Aura Vinyl vinyl wrap features a cast polymer hybrid build with German-made adhesive and a PET backing for smooth handling and repositioning.
FAQ
How do you remove horizontal wrinkles while wrapping a fender?
Pick the vinyl up to release the tension. Once lifted, apply heat to reset the material, glass it out across the panel, and smooth the air out to the edge using a wrap glove.
What is the best way to trim vinyl wrap along a wheel well?
Heat the wheel well area and run your thumb along the edge to seat the vinyl firmly against the curve. Then cut along that defined edge to remove the excess film.
